We released the second version of our website a few months ago, it was a complete redesign - moving away from a custom css website to one of the clean Strikingly templates. Back then, we felt it looked literally awesome.
Recently, we figured out we need to improve our SEO metrics & online marketing in general and that we need something way more impressive in order to stand out from the rest.
My first feeling was that Strikingly was not an option anymore and that we needed a better, more advanced provider, if not a tailor-made website. I checked out several other options out there, but also happened to play around a little bit with the new Strikingly templates and features.
When we needed a plain, responsive and maintainable website - it was there. Recently, when we needed a fancy template to help expose our key services, the team members and portfolio - it was there. Today, when we decided to kill our wordpress blogging platform - Strikingly is here, offering the Simple Blog.
I have no clue what will be our needs in 6 months, but I’m sure that Strikingly keeps up the pace!
Wordpress, along with thousands of plugins, has a lot to offer. On the other hand - Simple Blog is really... simple. Well, doesn’t it sound like a reason to switch?
With wordpress we used to face quite a lot of issues. Its updates often caused plugins to crash, social buttons would often be gone for some reason, some malicious code would be found injected in PHP, DNS configuration would grow unnecessarily complex, custom css template would need some hand-made updates, the PaaS provider would have downtimes, etc. All of this needed some attention from time to time.
But it’s just a damn blog - it should be simple. And that’s where Strikingly kicks in with its pure simplicity, beauty out of the box, zero maintenance overhead, and just enough flexibility to roll out something outstanding and fitting your special needs.
